I just found a file named XF86Config.new sitting in / dir. It looks kinda like the normal XF86Config file, but there are some interesting changes.

Things are working fine, but something feels wrong about having a file sitting in my root dir. Should I delete it, move it to /etc/X11/XF86Config-4, leave it alone, or something else?

i would back it up and del it.. i dont trust it lol but then again i dont trust a lot of things lol

It probably got moved there by a program that was being upgraded and didn't want to over write your old config with their new stock config. Since it's in root it's not being used by anything and should be safe to delete. The only XF86Config file that is used is the one in /etc/X11/ Any other ones are just there for backup.
