What's up with BF1942 locking up?

I get past the load screen, choose the instant battle, select the theater and lock.

I've also just gotten past the load screen, and locked while the music played.

My computer is a new build. Stable on any other game I've loaded (nothing as intense as UT2k3 or BF1942 yet). Fine online.

Any suggestions?

You didn't say so I will ask, by any chance are you overclocked.

Does it have to have internet access even if you're playing single mode? My firewall detected it and I'm wondering if that's my problem.

If your doing SP that shouldn't cause it to lock up. Do you have the latest drivers for your video card.

Actually, I don't guess I have. I haven't had to worry about it with the games I loaded, but none of them tapped my resources like I hear BF1942 does

It's fixed, thx for the help. The firewall was blocking progress in loading
