Why?

Best Buy and CompUSA are now selling 9800Pros, so why does Newegg have an ETA on their 9800 pro for the 25th of this month?

wow that is odd, they do seem to imply they have it already on bestbuys website, I just looked here.

http://www.bestbuy.com/Detail.asp?m=...at=&e=11212743

my only guess would be it will take a little while before the OEM versions are available, and also take alittle while before there is a plentiful supply, so they will sell the early stock at premium prices to retail places.

Those things must have sold like hotcakes, there already sold out at Best Buy as well as CompUSA and Outpost/Frys

They aren't selling them yet those are for pre-orders, if you read bestbuy ad closely, you will see:

"Not available for delivery at this time.
Not available for store pickup."

peace.

I preordered mine from BB the "hour" it became available online. they're on backordered status b/c IMO they still haven't received the initial shipment from ATI. I find it hard to believe I wouldn't be in the first shipment.

Of course there could be the fiasco that happened with the GFFX pre-orders. Nobody who ordered their cards before Feb 28th got their cards first.

Actually when I checked they were available with limited store pickup. Then later that day, the site said as you quoted above.
