8RDA stuck at 178fsb

My system...

8rda
2400+
slk-900U heatsink/w vantec stealth 92mm
512mb HyperX pc3500
Radeon 9700PRO/w Zalman heatpipe cooler.
Antec truepower 300W
Passive NB cooling
Used AS3 on everything

at 178x14
1.825v
idle temp = 36C
Load temp = 41C
Depending on ambient temp the idle will drop as low as 32C. Load temp will drop as well.

My problem...
I can't go higher than 178fsb, no matter how low I drop the multiplier, how high I raise Vcore, or how low the temps are. It is completly stable at this speed, but won't even post above 180. It has booted up fine a couple times at 180, but won't run prime95 or 3dmark. Has anyone experienced such a low fsb max on an 8rda? I'm at a loss. I was contemplating going water or peltier cooled, but I'm not going to bother if there's something wrong with my board. Any suggestions?

I posted this on the epox board as well. Just trying to get as much feedback as possible.

Is the ram stick in the slot nearest the cpu? That's the best one for a high FSB.

Mine can only do 185fsb before the vmod..... you might wanna get a better psu, I dont think 300w is enough to run rig especially an 8rda and 9700pro..... get atleast a 430w

yes!

I'm typing this as my system idles at 31C 1.9V 200x12.5
All I had to do was change from cas2 to cas2.5. What I'm not happy about is that it runs at the same speed with my old Kingmax pc2700. Kinda makes me feel like I wasted $150. Should the HyperX be able to run this speed at cas2?

Hyper X shpuld have no problem running at cas2 with very fast timings, also what voltage are you using for your ddr ram, try 2.77 or 2.9 "the Max" then try running running at cas2 7,4,4 timings, something slow, then work your way down the timings till you find the sweet spot..

Epox 8RDA+
Athlon 2100 t-bred b 0302 at 190X12
512mb pc3200 CAS2 from OC system, 5,2,2 timings at 2.77 volts
Goldenfield true 430 power supply

before you do that, do you have any cooling on the northbridge? alot of times cooling the memory controller will help you alot. specially if you have a high ambient temperature. make sure your cooling is on par before you raise voltages to anything. even if you haven't cooled the northbridge yet you're going to need to do it in the future to get much higher.
