My map for CNC generals

well, as I was learning and trying to make maps, my second one, albeit not perfect, but hey, I'm still learning , so if you want to give it a shot, go for it.

By the way it's a big map
350x800
I like big map, so you'd better have a leet machine to run it otherwise when the battles get big you'll lag. Good for team map actually, me and a buddy of mine would stay in the middle, against 4 AIs around the maps. I'll keep adding things to the map that I see would make it better, or if you have any suggestion I'll take that too. The reason there isn't much detail right now because it's already big, too much detail and even a leet machine will lag.

it will run in skirmish, there is a mod out there that makes the AI truly BRUTAL, if you want I can pass it along. I tried that mod with my map and gosh, I got attacked non-stop, luckly my defense was up quick. Adequate resources, enough but not overabundance, makes it more fun that way I think

lol, ok to put this map in generals, look in your "Documents" folder, find a folder call Command and Conquer Generals Data, look in there for a map folder, that's where you put this map in (the whole folder, not just the files). If you don't see the folders there, start a skirmish game, exit it and look again. It should be there, now to access the map once in the game, look in the Unofficial Map section.

Excellent work New, i love the map, only suggestion i can make is the entrances to the bases could be a bit wider, as when i go super tanks i get stuck, other than that everything else is primo. you earn a HEAT SCORE. have a beer on me

ok, mod that makes the AI harder in skirmish.

Try this out and see if you like it.
http://63.207.15.243/CNC%20maps/ini.zip

There should be 2 folders in that zip, put the "ini" folder into the "data" folder of your game ie.. C:\Program Files\EA Games\CNC Generals\Data.

The other folder goes into the same directory C:\Program Files\EA Games\CNC Generals\Data, if ask to overwrite you can say either yes or just save the other folder somewhere else and replace it later if you don't like it. In the Script folder that you downloaded, it is the same files that you have on your hard drive just one file was added, the original was named as .bak. So you can safely delete the one you already have and replace it with this one and when you want to play online, just rename to file .bak back to its original position.

Since this modifies the game a little, if you play online, the other people also need to have these files, otherwise you won't have the same version. So if you want to play online just take out the "ini" folder and either rename the file within the script folder or just replace it with your saved one.

have fun.

I played wiht a friend and two hard Ai's, after the first hour or so we got lag, but that was during peek troop movement, his ol's and my paladins, plust the ai's mass infantry. so it was likely just westwood, becuause it functions primo untlil you get massive amounts of troops on it.

yeah, i was afraid of that, that's why i didn't want to make the map any larger or detailers, because it would have this horrible lag when lots of stuffs are on the screen. I guess we could all turn down the eye candy a little, but what's the point, we want eye candy. And by the way the AI mod only works in BRUTAL mode, they haven't tested or twik it for normal or hard.

Great map, I had a lot of fun with it. It gets kind of laggy when I start rolling out the troops but that's to be expected. I liked it though, very fun.

yes I used the editor, as I am still learning to make good use of it, to use it go to start>Program Files>EA Games>CNC Generals>World Builder... that's it, and on you go, there are tutorials online, but i personally didn't understand them, so I tried it out on my own, experiencing with this and that.

Yeah, as it is a big map it does lag when you have a huge army, you could turn down the graphic a little if you want smooth scrolling. I like big maps that's why I make em, I shall make more
