Which one (2.4 or 2.53)?

I'm buying new CPU tomorrow so I need little advice. I'm buying either one of these:

2.4GHz C1 (dunno about FPO/Batch or Code)
or
2.53 C1 (SL6EG, FPO 7252A136)

Thanks in advance

I would suggest you take a look at the CPU database and see what people with similar S-Spec numbers and FPO numbers are getting out of their chips. Other than that, it all depends on if you are willing to pay the extra money for a 2.53 chip or save money with a 2.4 chip.

Yeah, I know... My friend got SL6EF from week 52 and it wouldn't do 3.0GHz

A guy over here in Belgium bought a retail SL6RZ.
FPO# 7303A608, so more less the same as you can buy.
He said that 170FSB was about the max he could reach, at 1.70V.

So I'd go for the Costa Rica one, but that's my personnal choice. The Costa Rica's seem to oc better than the Phillipine ones.
But don't blame me (or others) if it's a lousy oc'er.
After all, it's all a matter of luck.

Yeah, that seems like the same chip, still 3.06GHz is not a bad OC. I'm getting mixed results My friend bought SL6EF from week 52 and what we tested, we could get only 162FSB stable out of it. So I dunno, maybe I go with the SL6RZ anyways and see how it does.

Nah, I was just joking, I won't blame anyone (except myself... and... err... maybe the store.... and maybe finally you )

no, as you might get a q malay, on either one, and have a bad oc'er. depends on where your get it from, and if the pins are bent or not, as outpost.com, has been sending peeps bent pin cpu's.

but with the results of late, either one would be fine.

At least we get good service in Finland (or Finnish computer shop(s))

I sent e-mail like this (translated from Finnish of course ) "Could you tell me what Codes and FPO's do you have from following Intel CPU's: 2.4B, 2.53 and 2.667"

I waited for 20minutes and found this in my mail:
2.4B: BX80532PE2400DSL6RZ /FPO: 7303A605 or BX80532PE2400DSL6EF /FPO: 3304A158
2.53: SL6EG /FPO: 7252A136
2.667: bx80532pe2667dsl6eh /FPO: q252a031

That's customer service

i don;t think i;d say the costa rica's are better than the phillipines .....i haven;t seen any evidence to that effect .................
i would for sure buy a sl6rz or a sl6s2 and personally i wouldn;t buy anything else unless your going either up or down but these are the sweet spot on pricing ...and most of these chips don;t need anything close to 1.7v most don;t need the increased voltage and don;t do much more no matter what voltage they get ,they sorta hit a wall and thats all they will do no matter what you do ....,just my opinion,,,if it doesn;t overclock well, then come blame me ....
