Question What FPS should i be getting in CS???

Ok, i have a R8500LE and i have been playing CS with everything standard settings no custome models.

My FPS is set to 100 MAX!!!

But when i am in a fire with like what 5 people on cs_militia or any other map my FPs drops to around 34..... i can notice the slow down and it really bugs me, what does everyone else get?

EDIT - I run in OpenGL mode.

i know just what your talking about. when i upgraded from my geforce2 ti (100fps constant in CS) to my radeon9500 pro, i started gettin fps drops when alot of people were on the screen. this is a ATI driver/half-life issue that tons of people notice. i have since reformatted, and i know longer have the problem, but alot of people do still have the drops even after a format. everyones hoping that when the cat3.3's come out, theyll have a fix. theres even people with the beafiest systems (P4 3ghz+, R9700) that notice the problem. if you go over to rage3d.com and check there forums you can read more about it. hope this helps.

Thankyou for the reply, i remember this problem with the CS 1.3 when people were overflowning in games because there was a bug with HL and ATi cards.

Edit- What about these Omega drivers, what are they like?

ive used them before and i liked em. basically he just tweaks the current drivers, they have better image quality most of the time. some people say you shouldnt benchmark with them cuase their more for image quality then for performance. they seemed to make my games run smoother though. id have to say i recommend them.

I think you can also raise the max fps because when I had my voodoo 5500 i could get it up to 113 but it would stay around 100.

I dunno maybe I am wrong but if my memory serves me right it is stat fps in the console
