Since all Tbred's are unlocked, you shouldn't have to do anything in order to change the multiplier. You should have access to all of the lower multipliers.

I'm not sure what you can expect from the chip...maybe around 2.0 GHz.

ya know I just got an email from the guy that won the auction for my xp2200 asking if he could bail out on the deal that he wants to get something else but that if not he would pay for it just to honor the deal I'm thinking to myself hum I payed $240 for this chip thats giving me 2.gigs and I'm about to sell it for $109 to replace it with a chip that will only give me 2.4 maybe 2.5 not much of a differance so I think I am going to let him not buy the chip and sell him some kingston pc2100 that I have and he wants (why). I might just put back this trusty 2200 and just post the 1700 on ebay for what I payed for it. I'm loseing to much money just to get .5mhz

what do you guys think? with the money I can get myself some pc3200 ram because this mushkin PC2100 is kinda holding me back

500mhz is alot.
I don't see how your losing money, it looks to me like you would be gaining speed and gaining money.

might gain speed but is 500mhz that noticable and how do you figure I gain money I payed $240 for the XP2200 it sold for $109.
thats already $131 loss. then dishing out $50 for the 1700 a total of $181 loss to gain 500mhz

No, thats not how you do it. It's a 59$ gain for a 500mhz gain.

The speed is noticable. There is no point in keeping the 2200+ because you can gain money to get a better cpu.

You can keep your 2200 because you spent alot of money on it in the past, or you can make some dough off of it and get a better cpu at the same time. You can probably even get a 1700+ dlt3c and 512mb of samsung 2700 in trade for a worse chip.
