Say a prayer for my Almighty BE6-II, it's crossed over to computer heaven!

Thats right. I went to restart it last night and needless to say it never restarted! I can see three transistor (or whatever those barrel looking things are called) in a row which are bulged on the top and have a small amount of brown goo coming out! I would suspect that they are the culprits. I was thinking of pulling them off and soldering new ones on. But my dad offered to buy me my Asus A7A 266 w/ a T-Bird 1.2 gig if I redo the roof on his garage. I had to accept ofcourse. So I think I'll just lay this old BE6-II to rest.

God bless that board for giving me a year and a half of overclocking pleasure. It has served me well. This is the final kick in the butt I needed to get me off of the Old BX chipset.

So long!!!

Sorry to hear of your loss....pains me too, as I'm quite keen on getting one of these boards. I've got a C600 @ 1.05G that's crying out for one. Good luck with the new board.

yeah, I'm looking forward to getting my new stuff. I also have a Radeon 64 DDR w\ vivo on the way. Right now i'm using a borrowed old generic board. Could be a Microstar or something. It's an OEM from a computer my dad bought a few years ago from a local computer store. Go figure, I still have my PIII overclocked to 896mhz with this board LOL!!! Just don't know when to quit do I! Can't take it any higher though, Only runs FSB's of 100, 103, 112, & 133. She won't post at 133 cause I cant change the Core voltage with this board. So I'm stuck with a fsb of 112mhz.

I guess I knew my BE6 was going to die sooner or later. about 6 months ago or so I had a modem go out from a thunderstorm. But the rest of the system worked. Well ever since then it just wasn't as stable. I had problems with the system posting and got random bios checksum erros.

It still brings a tear to my eye knowing I lost her! LOL, hahahaha! (actually what really brings a tear to my eyes is having the wife rag on me about having to get some more hardware) Quote "It's always something with that Damn thing! You can live without for a while now!" Easy for her to say. Ah she can be a pain but I still love the hell out of her! Now my daughter who's 7 years old want's her own computer in her room. LOL. You know what my wife said? "HELL NOOO!"

Life is grand!
