im thinking of setting up a webserver using IIS ...
newb here :D...

is there program to monitor logs and who's(IP Address) currently connected to the server...
what can you guys recommend ...

IIS creates it's own logs complete with IP addresses of those that visit. I would recommend 2 things....

1. Read the sticky above about securing IIS based webservers.
2. Move your log files to a directory other than the default directory. That's the first thing they delete. Leave the folder there as bait, fill it with useless text files, but send your logs to a different folder, even better, a different machine.

thanks for the quick replies ...
im reading the stickys right now ...
and did a search here for webservers (iis doesnt work :( )
im going thru the results ATM ...

another question ...
how do i go about changing the log folders?
i read MS page about IIS from the List O' Links about i dont think i saw something about it ...
will it show the IP's that are currently connected?

a little more help would be appreciated...
and some links will do :D
