High CPU usage with new build of system..

ok Ive just purchased a A7N8X deluxe Rev 2.0 and have a 2400xp TbredB ..reinstalled Xp Pro and all new sata hard drive and all..well waiting for ram to get here in mean time im using my pc2100..the thing is it seems fast and all but ive been noticing my Cpu usage gets maxed alot more than before..like 100% ...but up and down..when i used to play mechwarrior4 the cpu usage was nowhere near 100% prolly around 20% or less even with me hosting a 16 ppl server and now I wasnt even hosting just playn and it was bouncing around 100% even when I was sitting in game lobby ..ive also noticed when I open programs it does the same thing..any suggestions ..?? maybe bios settings? im real new to this mobo so any help would be great,.
