I'm just curious to know, but are there any adverse affects of having a window in a case, particular in the way of EMI. I have windows in some of my cases, and I was just wondering on what the effects would be. Cheers

Well, a solid metal enclosure is preferred on this type of equipment. Outside interferance is more of a problem when the housing is not complete. I have a plastic case that came with metal plates on the inside of the housing to stop EMI radiation. If there ia a lot of EMI radiation you could have problems. For instance where I live you can not use a hand held two way transmitter because of the EMI radiation in the area(olnly on certain frequencies). I have a friend that lives close to a radio transmitter and his speaker amp picks up the radio station(this unit does not have a reciever in it).

Just keep your tower away from your monitor. I had a case that would make my monitor shimmy and shake all over when I would power up.
