Okay I’m new to over-clocking and have been trying to work some stuff out
Okay here my question and hardware that’s going to be used
3.GHz Hyper threading 800FSB
Asus P4C800 Deluxe DDR i875P Canterwood
Corsair XMS 512Mb DDR 434MHz
Okay at stock setting the
Actual buss speed is 200mhz
The multiplier is 15
That is effective bus speed of 800fsb
And a CPU clock speed of 3ghz
And using these setting the memory will speed will be running at 400mhz
Giving a theoretical memory band with of 6.400gb
Okay so here’s what I want confirming
If I have the multiplier at 15
Bus speed at 217mhz
Will effective speed bus speed be 868fsb?
CPU clocked at 3255mhz
And ram clock speed now work out at 434mhz
With a new high memory bandwidth of 6.944ghz
Isn’t the CPU multiplier unlocked on the new 800fsb version?
So if I want to keep the ram running at 434mhz like it’s designed to
Can I up the multiplier to 19 and will the CPU run at 4123MHZ and still keep the memory clocked at what it’s designed to. I know for this I will have to higher the voltage to the CPU and have good cooling I’m going to be cooling the CPU with a Prometeia Micro Freezer Cooling Unit and I will also sort out better cooling for the other board chipset and make sure I have good case ventilation.
Do you think it will be stable and mean I don’t have to overclock the memory as well?
