batboy has a post to a IC7 thread a week or so ago that had his 400 (1.8A?) working in the IC7, working very well I might add. Not supported "officially" doesn't mean it won't work.

Since I work in software development we do this all the time. We will not support an O/S or browser because we don't have time to test it. The software will run 99% of the time but since we didn't certify it, we list it as not supported. Abit most likely has the same issues with their testing and certification process.

Supports Intel Pentium 4 Socket 478 processors with 800/533/400 MHz FSB

This from the Abit IC7 specs page. I know the chipset doesn't "officially" support it, but I think Abit is telling you it will work.

*EDIT*

Check out the fourth question from the IC7 FAQs page.

I was able to benchmark a 2.0A at 3.4 gig on my IC7. I've just sold that CPU and have a 2.4C running at 3.3 gig on my IC7 now (see signature). Yes, the 2.4C don't overclock quite as high, but the 275 FSB and high RAM speed kicks butt in memory bandwidth compared to the 2.0A.
