Ok, this has changed since i last posted my comp. I would like to have some critiques ... like what won't work, what might be bad...

other than that, I'd go with kingston HyperX 3500 instead of the corsair ram.

but yea what sandman said about the noise i agree 100%

The noise all depends. Those SF2s are all adjustable and the Tornado will be turned down by a Nexus fan controller...However, if you're planning to have the fans turned down the whole time, I would suggest getting a cheaper fan that would run at that CFM. I'm not sure about Leadtek, but you can check its core/ram speeds to see how fast they run. I suggest taking your question about the vid card to the nVidia forum...they will help you make sure you get a good nVidia card. (I'm an ATi fan, myself) Someone mentioned in another thread that WD would be better as they have a 3-year waranty compared to Maxtor's 1-year warranty.

this is an old board based on the 845PE... I was more thinking about the IC7

Wow...I'm surprised...Both Newegg and ExcaliberPC have the same price on that board AND on the shipping for that board.

about the noise, every fan will be controled becuase each one will be hooked up to a fan controler, and i can turn them on and off when necessary

ditch the 4800. Get a Radeon 9500. Either Pro or Non-Pro. Take your pick. Of course, a 9800pro would be the best choice.

the 4800 is just to get me by before the prices drop on the DDR II 9800Pro

but maybe ill get the 9500 Pro or 9600 so that i don't have to worry about completely uninstalling every nvidia driver

You are sure the Gigabyte overclocks well if your aiming at overclocking you should really get an ASUS or Abit.

I would stick with the Corsair memory...the 3500...ditch that Zalman and get you a real heatsink aka Thermalright SLK-900 or
Swiftech MCX-4000 with a 92m/m Pansonic Panflo...Abit Max2 all the way with the Canterwoods...Beware of the Nexus fan controller...I have heard they make a racket when you have the fans turned down low...The Plus 9's are great, but the warranty on the Western Digital's make it a no brainer in my book...Maybe even a Western Digital Raptor would be in order for a box this bad to the bone...Pansonic Panflo's the quiet ones for your case fans...
