Just ordered a P4C800 and 2x 256 Buffalo 3200 (winbond) to replace my p4b533/1x512 corsair xms 2700.

I can't really afford to replace the proc at this time but was wondering if this board has dividers to allow for DDR400 operation with a 533 bus (or an OC thereof). I've verified this chip (2.4b b0) at a max (stable) 170fsb on this board.

Basically I just want to get PAT functioning w/my 2.4b...possible or no?

:(

how would that work exactly? Inadequate dividers for 533 chips? BIOS Check? Chip Level detection?

PAT isn't an on chip solution afaik so it seems like a matter of "won't" not "can't"

Well...newegg actually sent me a P4P800 (I could get the p4c800@springdale price buit I'd rather not deal with the downtime)

This board is pretty sweet. A couple quirks but 1006 bios adds the vcore i needed to really shine.

On PAT: It does work...on 1:1 ratio. With my 2.4b I can run dual channel ddr333 with pat and get ~3800 in sandra mem bench.

Unfortunatley things get weird once I started to oc.

Running at 163 fsb, Auto runs memory at ddr~320. By specifying DDR333 in bios CPUz Shows the ram running at 202.3 (ddr404) but the mem bench scores never go above ~4100

Lowering timings dont help mem scores AT ALL tho 3DMark sees a minimal boost (within margin of error)

Maybe I'm on crack but 4100 seems pretty low for dual channel ddr400 cl2/2/2/5

Mem is Buffalo 2x256 3200 (winbond)===CPUz Shows it as Melco pc2700 (wtf is melco?)
