I know there are many threads pertaining to this, but I can't seem to find which rheostat to get. I'm looking to get one for my 120mm .30A, and one for my Al 120mm evercool which I *think* is .38A. Any assistance would be appreciated.

okay, maybe you can just tell me if this is close....

12V fan / .30 A = 40 Ohm (this is what I should look for in the rheostat)

12V fan / .38 A = 31.579 Ohm (round down to 30 or so)

??

Yeah, thats correct. Mostly to keep on the safe side, it's advisable to get a rheostat that has resistance of around 3-4 ohm lower than the theoretical calculated result. I'm using a .46A 12V fan; 12/.46=26 ohm with a 25 ohm rheostat, and it works fine though. 25 ohm was the lowest I could find at my local hardware store, so I went with it just for the hell of it. here's the one I'm using btw.

any place online I can pick up one similar to the one I calculated? all the shack has is that 25ohm 3W one
