Hey people, someone told me that I should avoid a IC7-G because apparently the network protocols will be changing.. but wtf.. thats not right, they're backwards compatible.

But anyways, anyone heard anything about this

Are you refering to IPv6? If so you current card on the IC7-G will work. IPv6 will run over standard ethernet. The protocol stack will change within Windows not the card.

Plus, By the time IPv6 gets rolled out you will have gone through 3-4 motherboards.

i dunno, i tend to keep my mainboards for a while, but if its just windows changing the (tcp/ip?) stack.. it should be right.. thanx
