Will It Hold ?

I am about to get a SLK-800A and put in on my A7N8X ND mobo and was wondering what are the chances that the HSF might break the socket off the mobo ?

I don't want this to happen, so I might lay the case on it's side to prevent this.

Just need this question answered.

THX in advance.

You should have the case on the side anyways when installing a HS ...

But I had a SLK-800A on a A7N8X Deluxe...the only thing is...if you have a small case...the PSU is only going to give you a few inches of clearence to get a screw driver on the clip...so you might have to slide the PSU out of the way to make room...but the SLK will install without any problems like that...

its always best to remove the mobo when installing a new heatsink, especially a large one. thats why motherboard trays come in handy

Its not very likely to break the socket off, ive never heard of it before.
Only way it would would be if you stick it in a centrifuge lol.

So it won't put the socket off.

That is good to know. Also, I always install new stuff with the case on it's side, makes things way easier. I just wanted to know if I had to leave the case on it's side to prevent the socket from ripeed off, that's all.
