Which P4 C to get??

I will be getting a new cpu in the next week or 2 and am wondering what cpu I should try and get my hands on? I will probably be ordering from newegg.

right now I have 512mb xms pc3500. I will have to get a second stick of it for DC lovin 120gig 8mb WD. I will be getting a 9800pro (RIP 9700p) in a modded chieftec dragon case with jpiperformance watercooling. With my 2.53 in the sig I could get temps idle-31c load-34c @1.75volts.

The P4c will be going into either an IC7 or an asus p4p800.

I think a 2.4C might be the best choice. You have good enough ram to support some high memory bus speeds.

I was looking hard at the 2.8c Do you think the 2.4c is a better choice even if I order from newegg? I cant guarante I will get a stellar overclocker like my 2.53

My ram should be good it will do 470mhz @ 2,2,2,5 with 2.9v I just need another stick of it.

the "C" chips get about 3.5ghz-3.6ghz or so on air.
you'll need more then watercooling to get much higher.

I see no reason to get a new chip at this time.

your 2.53 at 3.5ghz will be about 5% slower in real world benchies then a 2.6C at 3.5ghz.

just get a dual DDR mobo and stick that 2.53 in it.
you''ll get a boost in speed just by doing that.

exactly the reason i haven't upgraded to a c chip.

i might end up in a IC7 so i can get dual channel memory and a little better rails. but i'm not swapping chips til prescott.

well see the thing is I'm not sure if my 2.53 will still run. I had a accident with my 9700pro. The little green vmod wire of death got loose hit my mobo and shorted my whole system. Now my p4pe will not read my ide devices nor give power to my agp slot. I couldnt get the 2.53 to post either. This is why I'm getting new gear. I will be trying my 2.53's in my IC7 when it arrives (just ordered it)

I have learned...and never again will I use anything with a vmod. As if 400mhz core isnt enough for the 9700

i think u should go for 2.4C since it'll give u the lowest multiplier compared to 2.8C, unless u can unlock ur processor
