Okay I'm trying help a person connect to another person using pcanywhere using a router.

They and I cannot connect and I think it’s because his router is acting like a fire wall.

When he types ipconfig he gets an ip of 192.168.0.112 which I believe is an auto assigned IP from his router.

I run a ping and it fails as expected.

Anyone know of a solution?

FYI they are both on routers

I was not successful in getting a reply when I pinged him however, my friend who was originally trying to set it up was able to ping him and got a reply back. They both are using a router.

On the Router to the computer to be controlled, he will have to enable port forwarding to the computer to be controlled. Then the contollong computer uses the wan IP address and the forwarded port.
