help overclocking 900mhz t-bird?

help overclocking 900mhz t-bird?


i'm running a 900mhz t-bird on the KV-200 board? is there anyway i can overclock this? i've tried settnig the iwill smartsettings fsb higher than 100, but even 101 will lock up? and how come these cpu's get hott like a bitch? can anyone refer me to a better cooling fan and where i can get it on da web?

Dunno but I have a problem
my 900t-bird isnt overclocked and its running at 55 degrees
I have a gigabyte 7zm which is part of the problem the program from gigabyte said my CPU was 95 degrees which isnt right
I have a coolmaster fan 4430rmp it runs at
please help I was hoping to get my CPU to 1 gig but its default 900mhz is way to hot and I dont know why
plz help

Kat your link is missing!

Tbirds produce a lot of heat. If you want to oc get a good hsf, like Alpha, or Globalwin..etc. Unless you got some full tower case with massive cooling you need case fans.

If you chip is hot you need to check your heatsink, remove it and clean the bottom of it carefully , also clean the cpu core. GET A GOOD thermal paste, and put small amount on the cpu core. Be careful and make sure the hs is sitting flat on the core. Never enver never ever never start your computer without heatsink on the cpu core, and make sure to connect the fan too.

Tbirds fry themselves in few seconds without cooling.
