cheap mobo for cheap system


Im building a pc for my brother and have a choice between two mobos (both priced the same).they are Asus a7v266 and Abit kr7a. I have no experience with the asus and limited experience with the abit. so, which one is better

Abit KR7A-RAID. A good board, on par or better than the Asus. The best KT266A board lying around.

Either one is a good board. I like the bios of the abit boards better than the bios of the asus board, but both are a nice place to start building a system

Isn't the Asus a7v266 based on the KT266 and not KT266A chipset.

Isn't the A7V266-C or A7V266-E based on the KT266A chipset?
