I have the 2500 barton from newegg also. It is installed onn the asus a7n8x dlx motherboard. When I use CpuID and similar programs, they read my CPU speed at 1.094 Ghz... am I missing something? Did I need to adjust my motherboards FSB or something? Please prove me to be a novice idiot and not having installed a wrong CPU.

yea i bet maybe you got the fsb set at 100 or something.....
stock fsb is 166
100*11= around 1.1
166*11= around 1.83
do this:

hit delete when booting up bring you to bios
then, looks thrua ll the setings and things to find CPU FSB or something like that
change it to 166.....
then just save and exit

perfect it work... thank you... do you think hitting 200 fsb with 11 multi will be feasible with stock cooling?

yea if you had decent memory and a nice board you could run it easy.....
always remember to hit the vcore up a little

well it's an Asus A7n8x dlx rev2.0 with 1004 bios.
AMD Athlon XP 2500+Barton
