free 802.11b wireless card for laptops

find this on another forum, thought I'd share

Got this deal in my e-mail, and can be found here.
You have to search for " xterasys " to find the card. The rebate is valid until 6/30/03, and the form is here.

The reseller is Global Computer, a company that I and the company I work for has dealt with many times.

If the card is crap, don't flame me. I don't know, I don't care. Just passing it along.
And I searched and never saw mention of this deal.

I wonder if I could solder on a normal antenna jack like you can wiht the linksys cards...

My Belkin PCI wireless cards get a pretty good signal with no antenna. Don't know how these will be though.

i've never heard of a rebate asking for the UPS label, maybe the rebate has a typo

?? I see only UPC
I look at eBay and found it for $22 so if you need a cheap card this should be fine but if you’re looking for distance look for one with an antenna or antenna jack / hook-up
