Geil is a good brand. Especially at $160 for the pair. They are supposed to be able to OC well. Newegg sells the same ram for $105 a stick.

Well people here say Geil is hit or miss. So it could work great for you, but work like **** for someone else. I guess you have to test it out and see. I was thinking of getting Geil from newegg.com myself, but not sure. I'll try to hold out until they get the Buffalo Techs in.

Often, ram companies will send the very best stick they can find for reviews. You can ONLY trust a RAM review when they buy it from a reseller.

A special thanks goes out to Victor at GEIL USA for sending out the memory for me to review.
Nope. Can't trust it.

newegg also has corsair pc2700 512 for $60s, 2 would come out to a sweet price of 120.

I agree with the review comments, I can't trust any review when the company provided the item free of charge. I know that buying products for reviews can be costly to small review sites, but it's the only way to get a good idea of what the final product is like. Hell, i'll trade a review site a retail product of mine for a review one, they can do an article on a final product and I can have a nice hand picked sample :P

I thought about that too but I do need really close to DDR400. My old crucial PC2700 only go up to 180FSB and I need like 190FSB, I am in very close border. Either I need a PC3200 or an extremely good DDR333 Ram that can do 190FSB or up.

I am thinking of using 1:1 ratio or 4:3 . If I am using 1:1 then PC3200 is enough and won't even used up to its stock speed DDR400. I am torn of between using either 512MB or 1Gb of RAm. IMO, I do really like to use 1Gb ( for my feeling ).
I now have 3 sticks of RAM
1 PC3200 Mushkin Blue
2x512MB PC3500 Geil Ultra Plat.
I am torning between these too. Can't make up my mind which one will be in the case permanently.

If your Geil will hit the FSB you need, keep it.
Run a memory testing program on it... I believe there is one called memtest86... to be sure it's good.

Otherwise, you can count on speeds like that with any memory using winbond chips. Here's an example:
http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...iption=winbond

Just remember, before ordering from a site you haven't been to before, use www.resellerratings.com
Newegg, the one listed above, is an excellent site.
