PowerColor.....Same quality as ATI????

Hey
I'm looking to buy a new card, the 9700 pro is really looking nice....
I've seen a few different versions out there, sapphire, PowerColor, the actual ATI....what's the difference in these cards? All I can see is the box...Is it like MSI and an ASUS geforce card? Please explain to me, and let me know if its worth buying powercolor...

Is there a difference in quality? Im so confused....

I can't seem to find an ATI radeon for less than 285.... any help on that either

(Retail version for less than 285...)

Powercolor uses crappier pcbs. If you want a radeon, look for a bba or sapphire.

you can get a built by ati anywhere pretty much, lots of places have them. Now that i say that though, i ended up paying the extra 15 bucks for tax and buying it at best buy cause i didnt feel like waiting 4 more days before i could boot up my computer.

I don't know about crappy... PoworColor has a bad rep but i think they may have changed. I don't see anyone with any newer PoworColor cards complaining, most say they like it and reach good overclocks.

should ati be ahead of sapphire? i saw a review at guru3d.com and the sapphire and hercules 9700 pro came out better than the ati, small differences but they're there

I own a powercolour 9700pro and have no problems. Out of the box it did 385/660. With an iceberq4 and ramsinks I have it at 410/690 for benchmarks and 390/675 for everyday gaming.

Sapphire 9700np owner here with mine o/c at 375/320 so far. I basically have a 9700pro for less. Got the same board as the pro and same memory. (Samsung 2.8ns) What was the difference when I first bought it? THE BIOS! Flashed it in a minute with a pro bios and poof! 9700pro was born!

Throw Visiontek into the mix there.
They make versions of the 9100, 9500, and 9800 Pro cards.

I'm pretty sure Sapphire makes ATi OEM cards, so they are the same. IMHO Hercules seems to be the best card for people who don't wanna add ramsinks and better GPU cooling.
