Why does a fried cpu still create heat?

(a long time ago i put my hsf on incorrectly and smoked my cpu :-(

But but when pop in into my baord and try it, it still heats up the hsf.

dead or alive if you turn the board on with a chip in it the board will put current through the chip creating heat i guess. im not expert but does it matter? the chip is dead. btw i think some people in the classifieds wants dead chips.
 
cpu's r generally semiconductors...

all of the semiconductors has resistance, (dead or alive)
and resistance means heat...
if u put a thin wire to socket holes, it'll create heat as your cpu...

whatever, R.I.P 4 your cpu... :rolleyes:
