I'm looking closely at getting one of these notebooks for school (required for my degree, despite some of my objections...)
The Inspirons are priced really good, but I can't find any solid performance numbers online. The main program this will be for is 3ds MAX 5, so I'm mainly concerned about directx/opengl performance. I know it won't be close to anything with a higher end radeon/geforce mobile GPU, but those guys are a little out of my price range.
Could somebody that has one of these run some benches and post them here? just the basic 3dmark stuff would be plenty to get a ballpark idea of what to expect.
