If your dvd player supports "video cd's" it will play it. Most but not all newer model dvd players support vcd.

I've found that most of the DVD players that do support VCD proudly proclaim this capability somewhere on the face of the player. So, like Cornbread said, so do and some don't. Also, be careful of the difference between VCD and SVCD...some DVD players can play VCD but not SVCD. The only way to find out for sure is put the disc in the drive!! LOL

Nero can do it either way, you can just burn the bin cue in disc at once mode, or you can extract the mpg or dat and use the vcd wizard in nero. Either way works, but i find that burning the .dat or mpg with the nero wizard works best.

You can find a lot of info (VCD, SVCD, DVD-R...compatability) about most (populair) DVD players at DVDRHelp.

**EDIT** In Nero just select burn image (You might need to select "show all files").

The process is the same, but an SVCD is burned in MPEG-2. You'll probably need an add-on program to whatever burn program you normally use. For example, Nero 5.5 doesn't burn MPEG-2 without buying an add-on (around $30). Also, be prepared, because there is so much MORE information in MPEG-2, the video editing part takes a lot more time.
