Does 8RDA+ recognize Bartons

"The AMD Barton processor is of a similar physical core size to the Thoroughbred range, retaining the AMD Socket A interface. It therefore fits any motherboard that is TBred/Socket A compliant, the only restriction being the way the bios recognises the processor and this will be fixed when manufacturers release bios updates"

friend has problem getting his new system to boot. can the 8RDA boot without a bios update using a barton?

yeah it recognizes the barton with newer bioses, but mine booted even on an older bios. Only ran on the older bios for about 5 minutes before updating though.
