I got it from Newegg - the Sapphire one. Oh well, I'm gonna RMA the thing tomorrow and hope for better luck with the next one. KIDDING. Jeez, I know some of you were already clicking on the reply button to grill me . Well, despite the fact that it failed to mod without major checkerboard action, I'm still quite happy with the card. It's a big improvement from my 8500 (which looks like it just hit the crapper anyway...). I'm still working to see how far she'll overclock. So far, I have it at 325/650 rock stable. Hopefully it'll be a champ.

EBAY it... then buy ANOTHER!!!....thats what I would do....

So you may take a slight loss.... but when you get one that works... think of the $BLING BLING$ you will have saveD over just buying a 9700!!!

The hassle wouldn't be worth it for me. I don't really care about scoring high on benchmarks. All I wanted was to play games at a decent framerate with AA and Anisostropic turned on. My 8500 would look like a comic book whenever I tried to play games with that stuff on. I know the 9500 can do much better .

Oh well, I took a gamble and only partially lost - the 9500 is still a great card for the money .

Your going to RMA it because it dosn't overclock or mod the way you'd like?

Beast Of Blight- Can you see the "KIDDING" in all caps? he purposely made it in all caps for the slightly illiterate members and you still skipped over it. read BEFORE you post. he isn't rma'ing it.

method().man- i'm glad you decided against robbing a great retailer blind. i wish we had more people like you on these forums.

Zabomb, you need to understand the difference between a question and a flame.

that is a simply a mis-guided question. Frankly, everybody does it.

That is a flame(it could have been worse though) that was un-called for.

a simple "lol, he said he wasn't rma'ing it" would do.

lol... don't worry, I half expected someone to grill me despite my kidding comment in all caps . We've got some good, moral people here at OCers - if not sometimes overzealous .

I'm a noob to RMAing stuff, and I was curious, would NewEgg even take it back? Thankfully I've never had to RMA anything, and my 9500Pro pleases me daily . Thanks.

WOW. I can't believe how much I was missing out with my 8500. Games look great with AA and Aniso with this card! I think it hits the wall around 325/650 but I am quite happy with my games now. Is this a good overclock for this card?

You notice a difference between nonAA and Aniso and turning it on? When i turn on 6xAA and 16xanis i dont notice much difference. maybe i just have a low quality monitor. but i just dont notice the difference in modern games......just old ones like tribes

An O/Ced 9500np is a great card.

If you're running your games at high resolutions, you probably won't notice that much of a difference with AA on.

Well, looks like 385 core/632 memory is as far as she'll go. Hopefully, I can squeeze out a little more once I finish hacking my PIV cooler. Is this a good overclock? Also, I scored around 13,700 on 3DMark2K1. That's about right, right? If you can't tell, I've been out of the vid card loop for quite a while now .

LOL, you've got me all excited for my 9700 to come. I can't until I can play games with AA on. My Ti4200 just doesn't cut it in very many games. IL-2 and Splinter Cell 4xAA here I COME!!!!

Yeah, these 9500/9700 cards are AWESOME. It's amazing what I've been missing without AA and Aniso.
