8500LE is a good card if you get the right make, look for a default clk/mem speed of 250/250, then apply the bios flash of 7006 or 7008 to it and voila you will have a regular 275/275 8500 provided the ram on the card is of decent quality.

The BBA 8500 LE like the one I had in 128 ddr flavour came with 3.6 Hynix BGA ram and mine would overclock to 310/306 (612) and scored over 10K in 3DMarkSE01

If ya can get it for cheap it is as good as the 9100, the 9100 ,ay have a couple extra features but I would buy the cheaper personally

This is a better 8500, it's new and it's from a company/reseller that I trust highly. Great Customer Service. And it has 3.3 Hynix RAM clocked at 275/299

I have a 128 mb built by ati 8500 LE. it performs great imo. Im not sure how to go about the bios flash though, to this date i just use rage tweak to get it to standard 8500 speed. mine wont go much higher than 285 before it crashes though but its a 10k card easy in 2001. I get 11651 out of mine.

The 9100 can come clocked like that as well. Right now I think the safest bet are the visiontek 9100s which claim to be 250/250 and are appropraitely priced at compusa 80$ for the 64mb last I saw

so it's clocked at 250/240. i dunno about the 9100's. i do however think that an 8500 @ 275/275 would be a better performer.

good luck with it.

J.
