Monitor screen shaking


it only happens at certain resolutions (the ones I use ]
video card - AIW 9700 Pro
monitor- dell 1023TM trinitron

i've had that happen to me sometimes..... usuallly it is due to the refresh rate

Actually, it's usually due to some sort of EMI interference. Make sure there's no electrical devices, fans, motors, florescent lights, speakers, your computer, etc next to your monitor. It's the curse of CRTs. You might even try moving it to the middle of the floor in a different room or even a different house as far away from everything (including the computer) as you can get it. If it STILL does it, then the monitor could be bad too. Could also be caused by the video card, but that's less common.

Previous poster was right about the EMI interference, this is probably your problem with the shaking screen. I have the same problem in my room. Increasing your refresh rate should counter the problem though. I have my refresh set at 100hz. Anything less and it starts to flicker. Good luck, keep us posted.

locked refresh rates at 60 and it went away..i dont care if my eyes hurt..the shaking wuz making my brains hurt. ...and Im not putting my purdy cumpooter on the durdy floor

Lol i have all those thigns that Avatar28 posted next to my monitor. YOu don't really notice the shaking up close but when your far away, it looks like a volcano erupting.
