Which works faster GUI or Text only?

Like the subject.. Which will actualy turn out units faster, the GUI or the text only console?
Just trying to get more done with less time.. Faster the better eh?
Any opinions?


My system is as follows.
OS-win2k
p3 450 mhz cpu
512 crucial sdram
Geforce 3 mz 64mb vid card
Abit BE6-2 i'm believing its version 1.2, definately not version 2.0.
Netgear Nic,
And an 8 gig, 5400 WD HD
No soundcard in this box.

I was gonna do a search, but heh, I wasn't sure what to search for.

Console seems to work a little faster. But only by a couple of seconds.

Seconds overall, or per percentage?

I heard if you have the gui minimized it works just as fast as the console. I wouldn't worry too much, I use the gui by the way.

GUI is buggy on some systems apparently, but if you have no problems then you should be OK with it. The console has got to be faster, even if it's only slight, because it doesn't have to waste the CPU's time thinking of what to draw!
