You'll be hard pressed to find one chief. I've read nearly every review out before I got my 9800Pro and didn't see a one.
For you I'd say get the non pro and o/c it to pro speeds. It should make it. The "Pro" monicker and clocks aren't worth $100...no way no how.

I can't answer your question completely but.....at PRICEWATCH.COM I noticed that several vendors were selling a 9800 that was NOT a "pro". The only difference seemed to be the memory and clock speeds were about 20% slower than the PRO version. This seems to be the exact same situation as the 9700 vs the 9700 PRO.
Being a cheapskate, I would get the non pro 9800 which will certainly rock unless you MUST have the PRO version.

It appears that 9700, 9700 pro, and 9800 are all just slower clocked 9800 pros

Here are the stock speeds.....
9800Pro - 380/340
9800 NP - 325/295
9700Pro - 325/310
9700 NP - 275/270
Although the 9700pro has a faster memory speed than the non-pro 9800 because the 9800np is built on a different architecture than the 9700pro it is really hard to say which one is better with out some realworld benchmarks.

Mine could possibly be different from others, as it was pulled from a Dell Dimension 4600. There aren't very many of these cards out in the public's hands yet, so it's hard to say anything for sure.
What I do know is that my particular example overclocks like a mofo

Thanks for all the info guys. I'd say the ship is still out on the 9700 Pro / 9800 np decision - I've never seen such a lack of publicity on a high end card like this. Best Buy had 6-8 of them on the shelf, so I assumed they were already very mainstream. If anyone finds some stock clock comparos please link!

The pro has a 70mhz faster core... that may be worth the extra $100 because it is cutting edge technology.

i really dont think 70mhz justifies 100$. Honestly save yourself some cash and get the non pro, i have a 9700np and i have yet to see a game that requires an OC out of it. so im SURE a 9800 np will be just fine.
