I read about some person using this program called SetFSB here.......http://www.ocaddiction.com/forums/s...6518&perpage=15&highlight=p4c800&pagenumber=3 It's supposed to enable users to adjust FSB within windows without restarting. So I did a search on google and found this....
http://home.pages.at/gigatron/downloads/setfsb/setfsbdownloads.htm & http://www.maximumoc.com/setfsb.html & http://www.page.sannet.ne.jp/k-hazama/setfsb/setfsb-list.htm.

I'm gonna give this thing a shot. Gonna see if it holds true.

I just read that in order for the file to work u have to copy GIVEIO.SYS into setfsb folder

U might have to copy and paste this link to another window get it to work. :)

At the moment I'm searching for a GIVEIO.sys. Searching google as we speak.

Edit: I found the file and attempted to use it. Set FSB to 290 and system crashed. At least now I know the program seems to be working. Gonna run of few tests to see what comes up.

I was so excited upon hearing this program that I immediately went ahead and bumped my FSB to 290mhz from what I am using now. (275fsb) Windows froze instantly. Same thing would happen if I tried doin it in bios. So I restarted and tried setting fsb to 280mhz. Everything was fan and dandy but once I ran 3Dmark2001se system would lock up during game4 nature scene. That is the exact thing that happens to me when I use my bios to set fsb to 280mhz. I was hoping to finally break the 275fsb barrier by using this prog but couldn't. But the settings I use in setfsb 280&290 cause the same affect to my pc as if I had done it in bios so I'm convinced it works.

So just to conclude. This program does work and it's a good way to adjust your FSB without having to restart. Only problem is gettin windows to read processor speed properly. Wcpuid, CPU-Z, 3DMark2001se all show the same processor speed I boot up with and not the one I change to with SetFSB. Puzzling.

NOT that simple....... :)

1. You DISABLE Hyper Threading from bios.......

2. Boot into Windows and : My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > ACPI........You "pick" Advanced ACPI and you reboot.........Back into Windows > WAIT > Windows found new hardware prompt to reboot > Do so > Back into Windows and.........you are READY to "play"......... ;) :D

This prog doesn't support HT CPU's...... ;)

Roll back : My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager > ACPI........You click on "roll back" and you reboot......Bios > Enable HT >. ..Back into Windows > WAIT > Windows found new hardware prompt to reboot > Do so > Back into Windows and.........you are READY

I have used SetFSB for P4C800 Ultra Version 1.5d on an IC7 and it seemed to work.

In the read me file it says it is for ASUS P4C800, AOpen AX4C, GigaByte GA-8KNXP/8IK1100, Abit IC7, EPoX EP-4PCA3+,Abit IC7, etc
