I'd get either (WD is considered to be slightly higher on the HD food-chain), but for $130 I'd get this one

compusa also has smc wireless router for 19 plus a wireless notebook cards, big IF all your rebates come back. I may buy on so I can read overclockers while i'm outside drinkin my beers on the patio.

the real price is not 19 dollar unless you buy a notebook computer. I bought just the router, it is 2.4 ghz. cost before rebate was 60 bucks, rebate is for 30 bucks.

Yes, it's a DiamondMax 9. I have a similar drive and it is a great storage drive (fast & quiet).

actually, these are NOT DM9s... All DM9 models start with 6Y, for example mine is 6Y080PO, 080 menas 80 gigs, PO means 8 megs cache.... a DM9 200 giger with 8 megs cache would be 6Y200PO, 2megs cache 6Y200LO...

oh, and sata drives ends with MO....

Here's a link

DM pluses are often sold rebadged as Office Depot brand or Fry's brand and don't perform as well as DM9s... DM9s are usually not sold with rebates at these stores (i'm still scouring though)

Whoops! My bad -- it's an Ultra series. According to Maxtor's site, the MSRP on this drive is $349.95. Probably still a decent archive drive.

I think this is the first deal this good I've seen for a 200+GB HD. The 8MB cache is an added bonus as well (I was expecting a 2).

Does anyone know what CUSA is charging for this before rebate? I don't wanna' flop down $350 up-front.

Yeah, it's $249. Technically, it's $299 - $50 instant rebate, whatever in the heck that is. Then there is a $120 MIR.

BTW, it says that this deal is only valid until July 7th.

I would recommend looking at the specs. The MaXLine Plus II, Ultra 7200 Series, and SATA Ultra Series have 8mb cache, 7200RPM. Not sure about the dynamic bearing fluid thing. The one thing I've noticed about my Maxtors is that they are quiet. For example, the DM Plus 9 is 27dB idle, which is really quiet for a drive.

Not sure. I would recommend checking out the specs and doing research.

BTW, here is a cool harddrive comparison spreadsheet I found: http://www.upgradesource.com/HardDrive-Comparison.htm
