I'm a noob.

I have a shuttle ak31 board. The northbridge chipset fan/heatsink is going out. Can someone recommend something to replace it (and where to find it) that wouldn't require modifying things that aren't made to go there? I play fps and mmrpg, but I haven't fooled with overclocking yet. I just need to replace this thing before it goes out completely.

thanks for any help

can you unscrew the fan and take it to a comptuer store? you can grab another fan from there of the same dimensions and put it on your board

don't lose the old fan though, modifying a mobo will void your warranty... put old fan back on if you plan on RMAing...

thanks for your response...

This town is lame on computer stores, and nobody sells fans except radio shack and they don't have the right kind. Only one store offered to try and order me something, but he didn't even know what he could get. So I'm stuck with online ordering.

I forgot to mention that its out of warranty anyway.

This is a link to the board:

Is this what I need at this link? Or does anyone know something better to get?
