kde or gnome?

kde or gnome?


ok when i install mandrake


which gui should i install, or are both installed?

They probably aren't both installed by default, but you should be able (if hard disk space allows) to install them both. I suggest you do that and use them both for a while to get a feel for them.

The choice between KDE and Gnome is a personal one. They are more or less similar in their capabilties.

I have ran both, i thought Gnome had cooler options in it for customizing the desktop. But KDE seems to have more support..

You don't just have to use those two, either. There are tons of window/desktop managers for X.
