TbredB post. When did you have to increase voltage?

I have a theory that many TbredB's seem to hit a wall around 2.1Ghz where voltage must be increased greatly over default to get better OC results.

Please post your current overclock and the point where voltage was increased greatly over default.

MY RESULTS
CURRENT = 1800B@ 2.2Ghz : 12.5x176 :1.6V
INCREASED = runs at default voltage 1.5V up to 2.1Ghz
 
Current= 2501: 11*227 : 1.95 V
Increased= 1.5V up to 2.0ghz

Edit, here's how mine does with various voltages:

1.5v- 2.0ghz
1.6v- 2.1ghz
1.65v-2.2ghz
1.75v-2.3ghz
1.825v-2.4ghz
1.95v-2.5ghz

Just about perfectly linear.

xp1700 (0319)
1.5v for 2.171 (13x167)
1.65v for 2.333 (14x167)
1.85v for 2.500 (16x167)
1.95v for 2.560 (11.5x222)

currently 11x222 for 2.450 @v1.85
 
Deez, I agree that ~ 2.1 GHz is where most people have to start increasing the Vcore, but I don't know that I would say "greatly". My latest 1700+ 0319 from SVC seems to be fairly linear so far.

1.55v for 2.125 (12.5x170)
1.60v for 2.200 (12.5x176)
1.65v for 2.300 (12.5x184)
1.70v for 2.400 (12.5x192)
 
I havent really kept up with the rises in vcore and Mhz...but I do know that for my highest stable overclock - 2.53Ghz (220x11.5) it requires 1.9v.

I suppose I could have worded it different, but while +.10V over default voltage isn't really a huge increase overall I consider it to be pretty large just to get 100 extra Mhz
 
My Chip:
1.5v - 2.125
1.625v - 2.3
1.775v - 2.4
1.9v - 2.47

A fellow ocer @ anandtech has a 319 spmw from svc and it does 2.4 at default vcore :eek:
 
Heya. I have almost the same incremental voltage relationship as Guantum. Unfortunatly, I am stuck with a PCI that is unlocked, so I have to also mess around the VDimm to allow the higher FSB's.

Do you mind if some also post VDimms?

BTW, I have my 1700+ @ 2.1Ghz (12.5x170) @ 1.65VCore (too much, making sure to be stable tho) with a VDimm of 2.6.

For someone reason now, the VDimm is stuck at 2.6, I can't change it...wierd...
 
Damn, I wonder why I had to put mine up so high. XP2100 tb

Initially: 1.65v (thats stock for mine) @ 2.2

After I tried for higher oc, it seemed to need 1.75v just for 2.17 stable. 13x 166

Otherwise 3d MAX would produce errors in rendering after 12+ hours.

1.88 for 2.34 12x 195 << this seemed fine initially, but I believe it got too hot during the day (ambient temps high) and crashed a render after about 8 or 9 hours. I haven't tried for higher since the bios freaked out when I tried to put it back to 2.1. :(
 
If you don't have one of these dlt3c processors (defaulting at 1.5v) it changes everything. You need to put more voltage, but the heat isn't usually that much higher and you _can_ raise your voltage alot higher then we can. (higher then 1.9v)
 
My DLT3C did run fine at default up to ~2100. I went straight to where I am now, though, and it takes 1.65v to get me stable. As soon as I get better cooling I'm sure I can take it higher on this voltage.
 
12x170 for a stable system @1.80 v

I can get 12.5x 190 @ 1.92v
but my mobo cr*ps on the ram side.

Even though I have Geil, 2x256 rated for DDR400.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I have a "B" chip "U" 1.6v.
