I am looking to buy speakers and a sound card. I don't really want to pay that much. I was thinking of getting an SB Live 5.1 and then speakers around $50-$70. Want to try and keep the combined price low, around $100 or less. There are a few nice 5.1 speaker systems on Newegg for around $60-$70. I would like 5.1 speakers. I will be using the sound card and speakers for basically games and music, thats it.

I have the SB Live 5.1 and it's pretty good. Newegg has the Logitec Z640 for $65 which looks like an awesome deal. 5.1 speakers and integrated ps so you don't have a bulky transformer to plug in.

I would go with what Bobby said.

I have the Logitech z-640 set and they sound great for the price. I use the audigy 2 though, but the Live 5.1 should do just nicely with the speakers.
