MachineID and borging

I know this has probably been answered before, but I looked in the "How-to of borging" and used the search button, but couldn't find the answer. Here goes:

When you are borging, do you need a different Machine ID for every computer you borg. If so, what would happen if I lose track of the numbers and duplicate the machine ID on two computers?

The machine ID is for multiple instances of FAH on a single computer. You can have two computers, each with a single version of FAH, both with 'machine ID 1'. However, if you wish to run 2 versions of FAH on one computer, then you must change the machine ID of one of the consoles to #2.

What would be the advantage of running two instances of fah if it runs at 100% cpu load?

While one console is turning in work, the other can continue to run, which will give a small benefit. It becomes a huge bonus on dual systems, because a single console will not use both CPUs.

The new P4's with hyperthreading will only let FaH have 50% of the CPU because it makes the CPU appear as 2. Running 2 instances of FaH makes the CPU run at 100% for folding.

The machine ID is actually recieved from stanford. That's how they determine how many active CPUs you have per week.
