i think the 9700pro is better since it is clocked higher than the 9800 nonpro.

but i heard u could do a bios flash mod to a 9800 nonpro and run it at 380/640 ..@ 9800pro speeds. i think i read this off from the rage3d.net forums. feel free to check it out...

BTW i think that the 9800 non pro and 9800 pro are identical in GPU and except ram.... but the 9800 non pro comes with 3.3 or 2.8 ram...and 9800pro with 2.8

i wish i could help...

good luck!

9800np in all three aspects. I think all 9800s (pro and np) come w/ 2.8ns Samsung ram.

i've checked the rage3d forums and ppl claim that some ppl get infineon rams 3.3 or samsung rams 2.8 in their 9800 non pro...

It's possible, I just haven't seen any.

The non-pro is being shipped with 2.8, 3.0 and 3.3ns. So if you order one it it just plain luck if you get the faster 2.8 memory. If you flash to the pro bios it will run at pro speeds with no problem.

if money is tight you might look at the 9700 np even, they will overclock over pro standards and will give you a 3dmark score close to what a 9800 would give.
