Installing CNPS-7000cu

Hey everybody. I'm putting together my computer now, and I have the motherboard mounted in the case, and the processor in. Now I have the Zalman CNPS-7000cu, and I tried to install it on my 2.4c....now this thing is really heavy, and I remember from my first computer you have to push down those clips so that you can screw the heatsink on. Now, I feel like I'm gonna crush the damn CPU by pushing down the clips...am I just being a little too cautious? How fragile is the CPU? I guess they wouldn't make heatsinks like they do if they were breaking processors. Anyway, I just would like some help before I do this for sure. Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!!!

I had to push down to get the threads to catch on the bracket when I installed mine. It should be fine.
