Lost 2k key

I have win2k LEGALLY bought and installed on one of my systems'. I need to re-format but I can't find the key. How can I tell what the key is since it is installed on the computer ? I can find my book and cd's but no license. Probably got thrown away by my wife since it was attached to the plastic on the outside.
