Ready to buy new ram. Which path should i go?

Ok right now i have some generic ram (simple tech or something) which i got from newegg.com. My rig is in my sig. Now here is my question. Should i buy say anouther stick of generic pc2700 say of 512 ddr and have a total of 768mb. Or should i try and sell the generic on ebay and get say a good stick of 3200 but only 512mb. Maybe 2 sticks of 256mb. So to make it short. Continue with the generic and go for quantity or get something good and go for quality?
Thanx for any suggestions.
