Question Problem

I think I have a problem. F@H is supposed to use your unused cpu cycles, so shouldn't my comp be running at 100% cpu usage at all times? It is only running at 50% even when I dont have anything running except windows, my firewall, and some others. Why is this?

Welcome To The Forum

What is your computer? If it's a Pentium 4 with Hyperthreading or a Dual CPU system you might need to run two instances. Could be that you set it to only use 50% too though...

I have a single processor p4 3.06, and I am on the graphical version of F@H. How can I set it to use 100%?

Thanks

It may be that the 3.06 is set up to use hyperthreading. This way, windows will see two logical CPUs, and as FaH is single threaded, not all the CPU will be used to process work units.

The easiest way to get around this is to disable hyperthreading in the BIOS. Or to run a FaH console program in addition to the graphical version. Each instance of FaH will use one logical CPU.

Thanks for the info. I just decided to set up 2 clients, each working at 50%. Thanks though.
