i've used several of those monitors in custom builds for customers, and i actually use a dual configuration of those for my own setup, however mine are the 19" models. i have yet to find any problems with Envision monitors. they're very good, especially when on rebate and this inexpensive.

Thanks John.

All the user reviews I've found seem to be to that effect. Looks like I finally get to shed this 15" dell crapo monitor

they are decnt for the $$... and if the actual dot pitch it .21 it's great, but i think they are actually .25/.26 (i think .21 is only horizontal). don't feel bad, i still use a few 15" monitors due to space issues in my "work" area, still using one on my server.

yeah I think it's .25 also. Thats the number Staples gives on their website, but I didn't believe it (they also listed the resolution as 1024x768 in the flyer).

yes the actual dot pitch of the 17" model's to my knowledge are in fact .25 as you guys said. thats not too shabby though, especially for this low of a price. refresh rates on them are fine also, i'm able to run my 19's @ 1024x768 @ 85hz, so i'm sure the 17's can do 85hz.

woah... is it possible to ad the $15 instant savings found in this thread http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...hreadid=219533 onto this deal???

if so... I might pick one up if my wallet allows

edit:

how good are the 19" ones? staples envision 19''

if it works with the deal in the other thread... (30 dollars off) that would come to around $170 for this 19''

yeah, but if you can stack that coupon and get the 17" it's almost unbeatable at $64.

edit - that coupon code is good for only B&M purchases...

My sister has an older model Envision 17". Its of so-so quality. Worst is that it kinda has ripples. Hard to explain.

She doesnt care. If you dont care then go for it. Remember you get what you pay for and Envision is definitely cheap. Anandtech's forums also dont like Envision monitors too much.

ripples sounds like what happens when you put speakers or other magnetic items near your monitor. Make sure there aren't any near yours.

Ok a better description, everything the monitor displays it shimmys... like everything vibrates. Increasing resolution and/or refresh rate didnt help.

She does have speakers near her monitor but they are shielded Logitechs. the same I have with zero issues.

Hey space willy.... just out of curiosity, do you have counter-strike? And if you do could you run it at 640x480 with vsync on (be sure to type fps_max 100 in console of counter-strike if you got it) and tell me what kind of frames you get?
