Angry 70hr WUs on P4??!

Hi people
Take a look at my stats here (Fibreoptic/Markodude) in position 69....

I thought that some of my crucnhers had crashed or berkeley was down over the weekend, but went up and looked this morning and whilst some are working normally, about half of them are showing WU's as taking up to 80hrs!!
Usually these boxes average around 6-8hrs per WU, but never more than 10.
Has there been a mistake at SETI, are these super high AR WU's, or are my rigs playing up??! Thermal throttling would have been my initial guess, if the room wasnt stabilised at 18c via air-con...

Take a look at this: http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...threadid=62194 to setup the CLI Version...

Other than that, double check your bios settings etc.

Are you sure you don't have a CPU hungry application running in the background? DO the three finger salute to check whick programs are running in the background. Also, have you checked if your HD is not powering down while in ENergy Saving mode?

Hmmm the power saving one is about the only thing that I can think may be possible.....
There are just the basic windows apps running, I just dont understand how SETI was running fine and the PCs have not been touched, so the power saving thing is my other option. I will see how the WU count is today and take it from there (as I "woke them up" by taking off screensaver this morning, also increased CLI priority to normal)...
Oh, I am running the CLI and SETI Driver with a 5 WU cache....

If these machines have been running normally before it sounds like you might have a run away application hogging the system.

These computers suck, thats my diagnosis! Actually its the *******ised Research Machines (www.rm.com) version of 98 we run here which has a load of crap running in the background. Even a defrag wont complete on these stations as something is hogging resources.
Gonna try a different route and go for a linux floppy or boot disk I think. Need one that will work with my on-board Intel Pro/100 NIC's tho...
